On possibly the hottest day of the year, our community gathered to unveil a blue plaque.
Blue plaques are awarded by Leeds Civic Trust to places of social and cultural significance, and in Bramley Baths’ case, as a community asset that has served generations.
The plaque was unveiled by Deputy Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire Kevin Sharp and Marley Parker, the winner of the Sir John Battle Gala earlier this year who represented young swimmers past and present. The Rt. Hon Rachel Reeves MP (Leeds West), the leader of Leeds City Council James Lewis, Sir John Battle, and members of Bramley Baths of board of trustees and Leeds Civic Trust also attended.
The event was covered by local media including BBC Look North and BBC Radio Leeds and supported by the Inner West Community Committee.
