About the event

Join us for a special BSL Splash, celebrating International Week of Deaf People and the importance of British Sign Language (BSL) and inclusive swimming.

Bramley Baths has a fascinating connection to Deaf history and is a particularly meaningful place to celebrate Deaf communities. Some of the very first people to swim at the opening ceremony in 1904 were deaf children giving a special display of their swimming skills.

The session will include BSL-supported swimming, with members of our team developing their new BSL skills. We’re also working with local Deaf and hard-of-hearing organisations to make the session as welcoming, accessible, and inclusive as possible while enjoying our beautiful heritage space.

Whether you are Deaf, hard of hearing, part of a Deaf family, a BSL user, or simply want to enjoy a relaxed, inclusive swim, everyone is welcome.

#Morethanapool is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National…
