I met my husband in Bramley baths in 1953 aged only 11 his photo is in the Gallery holding a cup won aged 12 as kids we lived at the baths 3 times a day in the summer !! We were married for 62 years ! Aged 70 in 2011 I did a sponsored swim and raised around £430. 00 to help save the baths from closure, I swam half mile which is 36 lengths of the baths. I sadly lost my beloved playmate to soulmate last December 2023 however our very large family of 3 children 7 Grands and 7 Greats all who use the baths to this day ! So yes a very special place in our family hearts.

I learned to swim at Bramley as a child. My Dad swam competitively there and played water polo for Bramley. He is on a photo in the corridor. My grandsons are learning to swim there at present. We therefore have a strong connection to Bramley.

Just love Bramley Baths, I learnt to swim there is about 1975 and both my boys have learnt to swim at Bramley baths too. It is such a beautiful, welcoming environment and needs to be kept in good shape for the community for years to come.
