About the event
Step into the rich heritage of Bramley Baths and discover how bathing has long been a ritual of both necessity and wellbeing. In the early 1900s, public baths offered more than just somewhere to wash—they were places of care, comfort and restoration, where the healing properties of herbs and botanicals were often used to enhance the bathing experience.
In this practical, hands-on workshop, you'll explore the herbs traditionally added to Edwardian baths for their aromatic and therapeutic qualities before creating your own botanical bath soak using dried herbs, mineral salts and nourishing oils.
Along the way, you'll learn about the history of herbal bathing, the plants commonly used to soothe body and mind, and how these simple rituals connected people to nature and everyday wellbeing. Together, we'll reflect on the role Bramley Baths has played in supporting the health of the local community for more than a century and celebrate…
