We are thrilled to announce that we will be launching a community share offer in the very near future. This will be your opportunity to invest in the Baths to ensure our beautiful heritage treasure is kept in the best condition possible and secure its future for generations to come. We have lots more details to come, but for now, we are asking for your input as to what this offer could look like. Please follow this link which will take you to a VERY short survey:

If you can, please spell out the risk bits plainly (worst case scenarios, withdrawal rules, and whether this is more “support” than “return”). People are usually up for backing something local, but only if it’s not confusing or full of surprises. I’ve seen other projects do a nice plain-language explainer on this site before, and it really lowered the barrier for normal folks.
Really hoping the share offer isn’t just about plugging gaps, but also about making the building more resilient long term (insulation, boilers, accessibility improvements, that kind of unglamorous stuff). Even a rough breakdown of “what a £X investment helps fund” would make it feel more tangible. Slight tangent: it’s like when you use imgg and a small tweak suddenly makes the whole output click — details matter.
I’m interested to see how you balance “invest in the Baths” with keeping it welcoming for people who just use the facilities day to day — hopefully it doesn’t end up feeling like only investors get a say. Will there be community updates/Q&As once the offer launches? Random aside: the way hrefgo structures submissions with clear categories made me think a simple, well-organised FAQ would really help here.
Hope the share offer details include what the money is actually earmarked for (repairs, staff, energy upgrades, etc.) and how progress gets reported back to investors. It’s so much easier to commit when you can see a clear plan and timeline. This post got me thinking about how clarity matters as much as the “headline” idea — a bit like using a simple vigenere cipher tool where you can immediately verify what’s going on.
Community shares feel like such a practical way to keep places like this in local hands, especially with running costs going up everywhere. Are you thinking one-off investment only, or will there be a regular “top up” option for people who want to support over time? Funny enough, the whole “small actions add up” vibe reminds me of playing the blockblast puzzle game when you’re chasing a score.
