It’s been a while since our last #Morethanapool update, and although things may have looked quiet from the outside, plenty has been happening behind the scenes. Over the winter months, we took time to reflect on how far the project has come and prepare for a busy year ahead. Now, as the days get brighter, we’re excited to share what we’ve been working on.

So, what’s been happening at Bramley Baths?

Quite a lot! Our programme of workshops and activities has continued to grow, reaching new people and bringing more stories to the surface. We’ve taken heritage workshops out into the community, sharing the rich history held within the Baths’ walls, and been exploring the history and significance of our original stained glass through special talks and tours led by the researcher behind a specially commissioned report. And plans for capital works are being finalised.

We’re training new Heritage Host volunteers, refreshing our community garden, and creating more ways for people to connect with Bramley Baths’ outdoor heritage while taking part in activities that protect the environment. At the same time, we’re continuing to build partnerships that will help us protect, preserve, and sustain this much-loved heritage site for the future.

To support key parts of #Morethanapool we’re developing some exciting commissions. An imaginative Facilitator will lead a heritage-inspired co-creation project, working with the community to develop designs for a mural, stained glass, and ceramic tiles. Another will focus on talks, tours, and workshops, creating a heritage-led programme that explores community stories, lived experiences, and the powerful connections between heritage, wellbeing, and place. Details of the commissions, can be found via the links below.

Looking ahead…

There’s plenty to forward to and we’d love you to come along with us. From pop-up exhibitions and outdoor activities to special events, Heritage Open Days, and Leeds 400 celebrations, the year is shaping up to be full of activities, creativity, and connection. Keep an eye on our social media for the latest updates as we dive into everything that’s coming up.

As ever, we’d love to hear from you. If you have a connection to Bramley Baths, a memory to share, or an idea for the future, please get in touch. Your stories, comments, and suggestions all help shape what #Morethanapool.

Until next time…
