A Festive reminder from the gym team at Bramley Baths: You Are Enough...

We’re all busy. Everyone has those extra jobs to do, extra bits to buy, and will most likely consume a little bit more than usual — and that’s OK.
Life does go on, and the festive period can also be a time for reflection, which isn’t always easy, especially if this time of year feels hard. That’s why it’s so important to be kind to ourselves and remember: you are doing enough.
Try to take just a little bit of time for you. Move your body in a way you enjoy, rather than punishing yourself for missing a workout or not getting started yet. Here are top 5 tips for staying (just a little) active over the festive season:
·      Go for a walk – get out in the fresh air and even visit a green space where you can. Within a mile of the Baths, we have Bramley Park, Stanningley Park and Bramley Falls woods.
·       Have a gentle stretch – There are lots of videos and tutorials across different platforms. Even just 10 minutes can make a difference
·      Kitchen disco – crank up your favourite party tunes and just dance!
·      Gentle workouts - Try some body weight exercises in your living room. A small circuit with one minute on each exercise may be all you need.
·      Get together – call your family and friends and get outside, kick a football, bat and ball, hopscotch, who cares! Grab your coats and get out there, exercise is fun when its shared
So, don’t dwell on the class you may have missed or the workout you skipped because you were a little more tired than usual, we get it. Remember, taking even a small moment for yourself can help reduce stress and refocus on what truly matters.
