So far so good…

Welcome to the fourth instalment of our new blog, sharing the progress of our #Morethanapool project, exploring and securing Bramley Baths (BB) for the future.

Four months in, #Morethanapool is well underway, and after a busy start we’re taking December to reflect and regroup ready to dive into plans for 2026 (there’s still lots going on behind the scenes of course!).

Pilot activities have shown us there is lot of love for Bramley Baths (we knew this but always nice to be reminded!). In November we joined forces with the new Bramley Moorfields market and hosted the first BB Christmas Fair. Hundreds of people were out and about supporting the community and local makers, and we were thrilled to welcome so many new visitors to BB, stepping though the doors for the first time and wanting to know more about this special place right on their doorstep.

Drop in workshops created a BB tree for a local Christmas tree festival and provided the opportunity to chat with local people of all ages, capturing what they’d like to see at BB and in the community on paper chains.

The project team for #Morethanapool’s capital works has been appointed and briefs issued for designers, engineers, architects, environmental and accessibility surveys to scope out what needs to be done to protect, restore and sustain the baths for the future.

2026 and beyond…

Celebrating and saving our heritage is at the heart of #Morethanapool and a key ambition for BB. Next year will see us really hitting our stride. It will be a busy year as we pilot more activities, and take a deep dive into exploring the stories that make BB, saving them from being lost and sharing with audiences both local and far and wide. Our garden will start to take shape ready for use in spring/summer, creating new ways for people to connect with BB.

As ever, we want to hear from you as we head into the next chapter of #Morethanapool. All comments and suggestions are welcome and if you have a connection to BB and a story to share, I’d love to hear from you

Follow our progress on our social media, at BB, and of course on this blog.

Until next time.…Merry Christmas from everyone at BB!
