Here at BB, there's always something a bit extra happening!


Alongside our wide range of day-to-day health and fitness activities, we also host a jam-packed calendar of exciting events throughout the year.

August


Community Co-design Creative Sessions


When: Tuesday 4th and 18th of August, 6:30pm - 8:30pm (These sessions will run 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month until December)

Where: Bramley Baths

Cost: FREE!


Join artist Ben for a series of unique and innovative creative workshops celebrating the rich heritage of Bramley Baths and the generations of personal stories created here.


Together, participants will help design a new community mural and stained-glass window, exploring a different artistic medium at each session. From sketching the "Ghosts of Bramley Baths" and creating a Bramley Baths board game to imaginative walking tours and more, every workshop offers a new way to connect with the Baths' history.


No previous creative experience is needed, and you don't need to attend every session—just come along to as many as you can. Every contribution will help shape the final artworks.

Family LEGO Workshops


When: Monday 10th, Wednesday 19th and Monday 24th of August, 1pm - 2:15pm or 2:45pm - 4:00pm

Where: Bramley Baths

Cost: £3 per child, adults go free (1 adult per child and children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session)


Join Get Playing for an afternoon of creativity, building and fun! Design and race your own LEGO® car, explore Technic motors, take on exciting building challenges or let your imagination run wild – can you create something inspired by Bramley Baths?

West Leeds in Bloom: A History of Gardens, Allotments and Food Growing


When: Sunday 23rd August, 1pm - 2pm

Where: Bramley Baths

Cost: £8 per person


Join Emma Bowen from Kirkstall Valley Farm for a fascinating journey through the rich history of gardening and food growing in West Leeds. Discover how local people have cultivated gardens, campaigned for allotments, and grown food for their families over the generations. From Victorian kitchen gardens to the 'Dig for Victory' campaign during the Second World War, explore how growing food has shaped communities, supported resilience, and connected people to the land.


The session will include a short outdoor gardening activity, and you'll leave with something to grow at home, helping you continue the story in your own garden or windowsill.


This event is part of the #MoreThanAPool project, celebrating the history, heritage and community stories of Bramley Baths and the wider West Leeds area, while inspiring people to connect with the places, people and traditions that continue to shape our neighbourhood today.

Heritage Open Day: Family Workshop - Everyday People – discover and imagine the characters of Bramley Baths


When: Saturday 12th September, 9.30am - 11.00am and 11.30am - 1.00pm

Fun, creative workshops for children and their grown-ups, exploring the characters who have lived, worked and played at Bramley Baths. Get hands-on making and doing as you dive into the stories of the people who shaped this much-loved Leeds landmark.



Heritage Open Day: Mary Gawthorpe Guided Walk

Join us for a guided heritage walk exploring the Bramley roots of Mary Gawthorpe, one of Leeds’s most inspiring voices in the women’s suffrage movement.


Heritage Open Day: Bramley Baths Heritage Tours


When: Saturday 12th September, 2pm - 2:45pm and 3pm - 3:45pm

From dancers and swimmers to residents and managers, the walls of Bramley Baths have stories to tell. Discover the stories of everyday people who have shaped this much-loved Leeds landmark, community hub and heritage asset since it opened in 1904. Places on the tours are limited to 15, and pre-booking is essential. Tours will last approximately 45 minutes.



Creative Writing Workshops


When: 3 week course Monday 14th, 21st and 28th of September, 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Cost: £25 (whole course)


Join author Jess Austin at Bramley Baths for a welcoming 3-week creative writing course inspired by the Baths' rich history, local memories and the power of place.


Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced writer, you'll enjoy gentle prompts, practical storytelling techniques and a supportive space to create your own original short story.

Join us for Healing Herbs of the Edwardian Home, a fascinating heritage workshop exploring the herbal remedies and home medicines that would have been familiar to families in Bramley over 100 years ago.

Discover traditional herbal oils, syrups and vinegars, learn about the plants that supported everyday health, and hear the stories behind these time-honoured remedies. Along the way, we'll share memories, swap stories and explore how communities cared for one another through generations.


Whether you're curious about local history, love gardening, or simply enjoy learning something new, this relaxed workshop is a wonderful way to connect with Bramley's heritage.

Healing Waters - Heritage Talk from Thackray Museum of Medicine

What did people do to keep themselves well before modern medicine? 🌿✨


As part of our More Than a Pool heritage programme, join us for a hands-on workshop exploring the traditional remedies that helped communities care for one another in the early 1900s.


Together, we'll make our own fire cider – a warming herbal vinegar tonic made with seasonal plants and locally sourced ingredients. Along the way, you'll discover the history behind this well-loved folk remedy, learn about the herbs and spices it contains, and explore how gardens, shared knowledge and community care have long played a role in supporting wellbeing.

A Year in the Making: Planning Your 2027 Veg Patch with KVF

The nights might be drawing in but this is perfect time to look ahead to spring!


Join Emma Bowen from Kirkstall Valley Farm for a talk on the principles of planning your fruit and vegetable garden for next year, including crop rotation, making the most of your space, making room for wildlife and what you can do now to prepare for spring.


Whether you've got an allotment, a back garden or a few pots on a patio, you'll leave with plenty of ideas to help you grow more next year.

What did a trip to the baths look and smell like over 100 years ago?


Join us for Edwardian Botanical Bath Rituals, a hands-on workshop inspired by the history of Bramley Baths and the traditions of herbal bathing in the Edwardian era.


Discover the herbs and botanicals that were once added to baths for their soothing aromas and therapeutic qualities, and learn how bathing has long been about more than keeping clean. For generations, public baths like Bramley Baths have been places of health, wellbeing and community care.


Take home your own handmade botanical bath soak and discover a new appreciation for the heritage of wellbeing at Bramley Baths.

Plan Your Plot: Collaborative Planning Workshop with KVF

Ready to grow your best fruit and veg garden yet?


Join Emma from Kirkstall Valley Farm for this small-group workshop and create a personalised month-by-month plan for your 2027 fruit and vegetable garden.


Together you'll consider the space you have available, the time and budget you can dedicate to gardening, and the fruit and vegetables you and your household love to eat. You'll also carry out some simple DIY soil testing to get to know your garden better and help it thrive.
